New And Improve Mitt, Same Old Lies-Biggest 10 Lies Told During Debate

This man never ceases to amaze me. While everyone should be talking about his “win”(I still say the President won, but I digress) everyone keeps bringing up all the inaccuracies of some of the things that

Nit Mitt spewed from his gullet during Wednesday’s debate against 44. Leave it to the Softie to do some investigation work just to point out 10 of the biggest inaccuracies Nit Mitt told to the great American people. So lets start at lie numero uno:

“I don’t have a $5 trillion tax cut. I don’t have a tax cut of a scale that you’re talking about.”

Oh but yes you Mittens. And you plan to do that is by eliminating the estate tax, Alterative minimum tax, and other tax deductions that you won’t specify, but I would suspect the earned income credit, home owners deduction, and the child credit. That’s even lower than 43’s tax cuts. Independent economist have stated that this would cost 360 billion in your 1st year which would balloon to 5 trillion over 10 years. Lie number 2:

“My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle class. But I’m not going to reduce the share of taxes paid by high-income people.”

Well, there is a problem with that Nit Mitt. There aren’t enough deductions in the entire tax code to support that plan which in turn would again put the burden on the middle class thus adding 5 trillion to the deficit. Number 3:

“My — my number-one principal is, there will be no tax cut that adds to the deficit. I want to underline that: no tax cut that adds to the deficit.”

Well, Wills, that not true. According to Tax Policy Center, you would somehow have to give the middle class a big pass and then somehow be revenue neutral and that just isn’t going to happen. A spokesman for the T.P.C. stated that

In order for him to cover the cost of his tax cut without adding to the deficit, he’d have to find a way to raise taxes on middle income people or people making less than $200,000 a year,”  Lie number 4:

“I will not under any circumstances raise taxes on middle-income families. I will lower taxes on middle-income families. Now, you cite a study. There are six other studies that looked at the study you describe and say it’s completely wrong.”

OK Mitt, your 6 studies actually proved that you would raise taxes. Piece of helpful advice: Don’t mention this lie again. It’s never a good thing when you cite studies that don’t even agree with you. That doesn’t help your argument. So just stop while your ahead on that one. Toss it from your arsenal. Lie number 5:

“We’ve got 23 million people out of work or who have stopped looking for work in this country.”

Well, that’s not true and that was proven just this morning with the job numbers coming out this morning at 7.8%. That’s the lowest number it has been since 2009. Mitt’s number was greatly exaggerated by 8 million. The original number was 12.5 million. There were 2.6 million that had stopped looking for work. but Mitt was counting the 8 million people who hold a part-time job as being out of a job. Side eye on that one Mitt. Lie number 6:

“Well, I would repeal and replace it. We’re not going to get rid of all regulation. You have to have regulation. And there are some parts of Dodd-Frank that make all the sense in the world.”

Really?! This can’t be the same guy who asked for a full repeal of the Dodd-Frank. This lie is just too unbelievable. Mitt along with Newt “Change a bitch out even when they’re on their sick-bed” Gingrich back in January called for a full repeal in Florida stating that Dodd-Frank was one of the reasons that the housing market was stalling out in Florida:

“Now, the banks aren’t bad people, they’re just overwhelmed right now. “The right course for America is to have a president who understands how to help our lending institutions, be creative, and find ways to keep people who can meet their payments stay in their homes.”

In other words, ‘Let’s go back to the plan that caused the housing collapse in the 1st place for the bank’s sake.’ Yeah right. Lie number 7:

“What I support is no change for current retirees and near-retirees to Medicare.”

Like hell you don’t Mitt. By repealing Obamacare, a model based on Mitt’s Romneycare of Massachusetts, seniors who receive preventive benefits on co-pays and cheaper prices on prescription drugs will see an increase. Premiums would increase for Premium Support, and according the great literary piece of legislator written by P90X Paul Ryan, Medicare spending from the government would decrease putting into the hands of the states to do as it wishes and increasing the cost of Medicare to its recipients. Who you fooling? Lie number 8:

“And, unfortunately, when — when — when you look at Obamacare, the Congressional Budget Office has said it will cost $2,500 a year more than traditional insurance. So it’s adding to cost.”

Actually, Mitt, it would give a tax credit to millions of Americans so that healthcare will be affordable to everyone. You want to try again? Lie number 9:

“Preexisting conditions are covered under my plan.”

I fell out of my La-Z-Boy on that one. This is simply not true. If you’re already insured with a pre-existing, you’re good. If you’re uninsured, you’re shit out of luck under Romney. Lie number 10:

Obamacare puts in place an unelected board that’s going to tell people ultimately what kind of treatment they can have.”

While it is true that Obama establishes an Independent Payment Advisory Board, they have no say so on the practices of the private insurance marketplace. The board is there to constrain Medicare spending. That’s it.

So before Mitt supporters start breaking out their championship hats and t-shirts, do a little thing call fact checking. You’ll be amazed on just how much your candidate thinks of you really.

  1. Great post. You tell ’em! Aren’t facts a wonderful thing? 🙂 Don’t know how you narrowed it down, there were SO many lies during that debate. Oh, one of my favorites was that $716 billion that Obama supposedly “stole from Medicare”. They keep trotting that one out over and over again ,and they have had their asses called out on it SO MANY TIMES!! That is a real WTF thing as far as I’m concerned. We know you’re lying, Mitt. WE ALL KNOW!!

  2. Ugh. I honestly feel nauseated after reading his lies again. It was painful enough the first time. Why oh why do the Republicans not care that their candidate is a pathological liar? Why do his supporters condone such blatant distortion? We are seeing signs of the most desperate campaign in history, short of what dictators in other countries have engaged in.
